A preface to 1 Thessalonians
-
Paul was zealous about getting rid of Christians when he was Saul. After his literal Damascus moment with Jesus, that zealousness was turned to work for God. These types of moments can look vastly different between individuals. Some are drastic, some are not, but they are all meaningful and have purpose. It takes all of one’s prior knowledge and starts to have it make sense.
-
In the first part of this book, Paul gives kudos to the Thessalonians for the perseverance in their faith through their adversities. He then touches on some of the programs that the Thessalonians are doing. He then reminds them of some of the details about the hope to be found in the return of Jesus. He tells them to be secure and renew their zealousness in their faith.
