A rich servant's heart

• Certain things that we may see as character flaws, are actually things that are ingrained in us due to our gender.

• Vows, are promises that we make to another. None more important than the ones we give in the sanctity of marriage. Till death do us part.

• This means literal death. Not the death of our commitment, not the death of our determination. Not the death of our motivation. This is a life long commitment.

• Part of God's promises to us is that if you break oaths there will be consequences. There will be good times and bad, this is a promise. The important thing is how we handle the bad when it comes.

• And if we can have knowledge about each other, it can make it a little easier.

• How the man thinks: A man needs a battle to fight, woman to conquer, and a need to explore. Sex is a huge drive for men, it is an animalistic instinct. This is how man was made.

• A man is designed to serve, to compete. A man is also designed to need respect.

Proverbs 30: 18-19

“There are three things that are too amazing for me,
   four that I do not understand:
19 the way of an eagle in the sky,
   the way of a snake on a rock,
the way of a ship on the high seas,
   and the way of a man with a young woman.

Genesis 1:27-28

So God created mankind in his own image,
   in the image of God he created them;
   male and female he created them.

28 God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.”

1 Corinthians 7:3-5

The husband should fulfill his marital duty to his wife, and likewise the wife to her husband. 4 The wife does not have authority over her own body but yields it to her husband. In the same way, the husband does not have authority over his own body but yields it to his wife. 5 Do not deprive each other except perhaps by mutual consent and for a time, so that you may devote yourselves to prayer. Then come together again so that Satan will not tempt you because of your lack of self-control.
