Angels and resurrection

  • Marriage in the afterlife?

  • Do we become Angels? No scripture says that, but we will become like angels.

  • So what are Angels? Angels are spiritual beings with emotions, intelligence, and a will. Which means there are good angels and bad angels(demons).

  • There is a spiritual battle that is being fought constantly. Their knowledge is limited, and are subject to God's will just like us.

  • The angels worship and praise God, they rejoice in what God does, they serve God.

  • Angels bring God's blessings and enact God's will.

  • Angels are busy and organized, and have a major role in building God's kingdom.

  • What are you doing with Jesus, are you part of the church, the bride of Christ?

  • In death we are essentially married to Christ. God is the God of the living, Jesus is saying there has to be a resurrection.

Today's Scriptures

Mathew 23:23-33

Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! You pay a tenth of mint, dill, and cumin, and yet you have neglected the more important matters of the law—justice, mercy, and faithfulness. These things should have been done without neglecting the others. 24 Blind guides! You strain out a gnat, but gulp down a camel!

25 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! You clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence. 26 Blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of the cup, so that the outside of it may also become clean.

27 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which appear beautiful on the outside, but inside are full of the bones of the dead and every kind of impurity. 28 In the same way, on the outside you seem righteous to people, but inside you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.

29 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! You build the tombs of the prophets and decorate the graves of the righteous, 30 and you say, ‘If we had lived in the days of our ancestors, we wouldn’t have taken part with them in shedding the prophets’ blood.’ 31 So you testify against yourselves that you are descendants of those who murdered the prophets. 32 Fill up, then, the measure of your ancestors’ sins!

33 “Snakes! Brood of vipers! How can you escape being condemned to hell?

Acts 12:5-10

So Peter was kept in prison, but the church was praying fervently to God for him.

Peter Rescued

6 When Herod was about to bring him out for trial, that very night Peter, bound with two chains, was sleeping between two soldiers, while the sentries in front of the door guarded the prison. 7 Suddenly an angel of the Lord appeared, and a light shone in the cell. Striking Peter on the side, he woke him up and said, “Quick, get up!” And the chains fell off his wrists. 8 “Get dressed,” the angel told him, “and put on your sandals.” And he did. “Wrap your cloak around you,” he told him, “and follow me.” 9 So he went out and followed, and he did not know that what the angel did was really happening, but he thought he was seeing a vision. 10 After they passed the first and second guards, they came to the iron gate that leads into the city, which opened to them by itself. They went outside and passed one street, and suddenly the angel left him.
