Is pleasurable sin worth it?

  • Pursuing pleasure may seem fun for a season. But that's the thing with pleasure, it quickly fades. If that is what we focus on, we will forever be chasing. There would be no room for the important things in life. But God does want us to enjoy life. He just doesn't want that to be our main focus.

  • We were given free choice, but that doesn't mean all of the options are good for us in the long run.

  • Don't put a good time above God! Put God first, and there are bound to be good times to follow.

Ecclesiastes 2:1-3

I said to myself, “Go ahead, I will test you with pleasure; enjoy what is good.” But it turned out to be futile. 2 I said about laughter, “It is madness,” and about pleasure, “What does this accomplish?” 3 I explored with my mind the pull of wine on my body—my mind still guiding me with wisdom—and how to grasp folly, until I could see what is good for people to do under heaven[a] during the few days of their lives.

1 Corinthians 6:12

“Everything is permissible for me,” but not everything is beneficial. “Everything is permissible for me,” but I will not be mastered by anything.
