Christ in your home

• Recap: we learned last week that we need to shed our old ways in order to pick up the things God wants to show us. Compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, patience, and forgiveness just to name a few.

• It is good to remember it is ok to pray with urgency.

• We start talking about submission. We don't expect any individual to mindlessly submit. But there is an expected level of respect and obedience between a wife and husband and between parents and children.

• We need to be respectful our employers ("masters") and do honest work for them.

• We need to all of theses things as if we are doing them for the Lord. And we can receive His blessings.

• We can be part of God's family simply by accepting Jesus as our Lord and Savior.

Colossians 3:18-25 

Wives, submit yourselves to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. 19 Husbands, love your wives and don’t be bitter toward them. 20 Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord. 21 Fathers, do not exasperate your children, so that they won’t become discouraged. 22 Slaves, obey your human masters in everything. Don’t work only while being watched, as people-pleasers, but work wholeheartedly, fearing the Lord. 23 Whatever you do, do it from the heart, as something done for the Lord and not for people, 24 knowing that you will receive the reward of an inheritance from the Lord. You serve the Lord Christ. 25 For the wrongdoer will be paid back for whatever wrong he has done, and there is no favoritism.
