Self Discipline/Control

  • Know what your boundaries are and stay within them

  • Do not be aimless in your pursuits

  • Knowing what you need to do and having the self discipline to carry it out

  • When we are too weak to make it to the finish line, we can call upon our God to give us what we need to finish

  • Get into shape: physically, mentally, and spiritually

  • Keep it in shape: work out

  • Garbage in garbage out. What you put into your body is what you express out

  • Let Jesus into your heart to clean out the dark spaces

  • Mind over matter, give it to God and try to leave it with Him

  • We will continue to crave the sin in our lives, but we have to let the moments of craving pass by.

  • Discipline does not come naturally to us, we have to develop it

  • We might want to be done with a situation, but God might not be done with us there.

  • There may be internal struggles, but if you submit to God's will for your life, He will give  you the ability to see it through

Today's Scripture

1 Corinthians 9:24-26

Don’t you know that the runners in a stadium all race, but only one receives the prize? Run in such a way to win the prize. 25 Now everyone who competes exercises self-control in everything. They do it to receive a perishable crown, but we an imperishable crown. 26 So I do not run like one who runs aimlessly or box like one beating the air.

Matthew 6:22-23

“The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eye is healthy, your whole body will be full of light. 23 But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. So if the light within you is darkness, how deep is that darkness!
